As part of a work experiment, I have ‘volunteered’ to wear a number of fitness tracking devices. My intent here is to record my experience and share it with you.

My current employer is a large cancer research & treatment hospital in Houston, TX. There is the theory that patients who exercise have a better recovery. Of course this is common sense, but we are looking for quantifiable evidence. The first stage of the experiment is for me to wear a number of the popular off-the-shelf devices and collect the data.

Here is a list if the devices I’m currently wearing:

fitbit One

fitbit Flex (I’m actually wearing two of these)

JawBone Up

Garmin VivoFit

The intent of this blog is to share the experience of wearing these things. I’ll be wearing all of them at the same time instead of separately.
